Now, you can add one more to the list. GregMo Roberts just reached the 9,000 post plateau.
A message board contributor since March of 2009, I have averaged over 12 new posts per day and the new benchmark is now 9,000.
Putting it into perspective, my post count is more than The Butcher, Kissthebaby313, Boombata and darthballsac – COMBINED.
It is also 8,999 more posts than Brain Chomper over the same period.
Thoughts of pulling a John Elway and disappearing after I hit the 10,000 post mark are suggested in fun only. But what I will gloat in is the fact that in two years, I have had 9,000 comments, posts or ramblings of which I posted - mostly for my own enjoyment. In the time to which I have taken to put my words to screen, I have neglected my girlfriend, let the dishes pile up to the ceiling, have amassed a collection of empty beer cans under my work desk, grown a beard of terrorist profiling proportions and sat in my own stink for hours on end as I construct words into sentences that I hope provide some kind of information or entertainment value.
There is no cake. No strippers or balloons to celebrate the occasion. Just the realization that if each post takes even just a minute to create, then I have spent over six and a quarter days typing endless ramblings into a message board in hopes of finding acceptance from people named Psychobilly and Nekrochick.
I could have used the time to try and find a cure for cancer. I could probably have taken the dog for a walk at least once (he died last year…probably from neglect). Instead, the wheels from my chair have worn out the carpet between my keyboard and the beer fridge behind my computer and I sit every day trolling for new things to comment on while establishing a high score that would make Billy Mitchell proud.
So, like any humble servant to the masses, I have some ‘thank yous’ to doll out. Thank you God for giving me no life and allowing me to run on endlessly to my own delight. Thank you computer for allowing me to open both a message board window and a minimized video of two lesbians showing us the art of ass to mouth at the same time. Thank you BreeAnimal for being easily distracted by chocolate and leaving me to my vices. And thank you Butcher. I could have donated a kidney or wrote a self help book for estranged sexaholic midgets who chug Jagermeister. But you had to create a message board and ruin EVERYTHING!
