City Of God is an excellent movie, although I haven't seen it in years. I'm going to Brazil for the first time next year. I should watch it before I leave, haha.
The site's very easy to use. You just look up the movie, select the DVD you have (usually have different version and regions to select from), and move the ones you them to your owned.

I really dig The Last Broadcast, it took a lot of shit in the wake of Blair Witch, but I think it's a pretty cool little flick. First time I saw it, I thought it was a documentary for the majority of it, haha.

Whew! 4 hours later I think I got them. I haven't taken the time to separate the DVD's from the Blu-ray yet. With both I have 385 titles and 498 discs. I believe 95 of those are Blu-ray. That is about what I expected.

Yo crikan, is the Big Trouble in Little China BD worth the upgrade??
I got it for Christmas and have yet to watch it. The blu-ray.com review (http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Big-Trouble-in-Little-China-Blu-ray-Review/4783/) is very favorable so I am confident it's worth the upgrade. I hope I get to it soon.
Nice collection BTW. If I had over 1,000 titles I'm guessing our collections would be almost identical.
From the review:
"Big Trouble in Little China dishes up a nice-looking 1080p transfer of a film that's about a quarter-century old. This 2.35:1-framed transfer offers viewers the opportunity to see John Carpenter's film with unparalleled clarity that easily surpasses its previously-released home video counterparts. Though certainly not dazzling eye candy like The International, Big Trouble in Little China occasionally looks a bit rough around the edges but is otherwise presented on Blu-ray with an overall satisfactory appearance. "

By putting my collection in a list really highlighted that there are many of my favorite movies that I don’t own a legit copy of. I feel bad admitting that I don’t own Christmas Vacation, Vacation, Slumber Party Massacre, Return of the Living Dead and The Jerk. I have access to them, but I don’t personally own them. Having this list could prove very expensive for me.
One surprise is that while I do have a few bad movies, there isn’t more than a handful that I don’t enjoy owning. Color of Night is a dreadful movie that I’ll never watch again, but enjoy seeing it on the self. It’s my easy answer for what is the worst movie I own.

For $20 (Well, $5 for me..) it's a really well rounded disc. It's the feature of course, commentaries, original audio, and 20 hours worth of bonus features. Totally worth it, the Emerald edition seems unnecessary unless you're a purist.

I'm surprised by how comprehensive DVDAF is, but I have needed to update and add a few titles. I'll admit that it took me way to long to figure out how, but once I found the link it was easy and only took me a couple minutes. Click on "Site Map" in the upper right-hand corner to find the link for adding titles.

Steelbooks is fancy metal packaging. There are people that collect steelbooks because they have limited print runs and are considered more rare than a standard release. I personally stay away from them because I wish all blu-rays/DVDs came in the same packaging so they look uniform on the shelf. But I understand the appeal, as many of them look very nice.

Steelbooks aren't a different size than normal DVD cases at all, like I said I don't go out of my way to get 'em but I sure dig the ones I got, like the Grindhouse flicks, Versus, the Boondock Saints films, Die Hard and a bunch more!
Cory von Chaos
03-12-2010, 03:30 AM
Steelbooks are a pain in the ass to maintain, and do ultimately ruin uniformity. Shit, every single movie I own, if it's not in a Vortex case, it gets one. You know, the nice ones with the embossed logo, not the silkscreen or foil logos. Trust me, in different types of cases, they don't sit right, physically.
