According to AICN, a hush-hush “Smallville” telefilm could be in the works – it’d follow the events of the show’s upcoming ninth-and-final season, and offer audiences a glimpse at something they were certain (because original said it’d never happen, since this show is supposed to be all about Clark Kent) they’d never see…. Tom Welling in the Superman suit.

An untried scooper (like how we’re not judging?) told the site that he’s gotten a hold of some signage being prepared for next months’ Comic Con.

Here’s what said scooper says :

On black, with crimson/red text in the same font lettering that Smallville uses, and a transparent grey Superman "S" watermark behind the text: METROPOLIS CHRISTMAS 2010 Then at the bottom is a banner advertising the Smallville presentation.

This could be nonsense… but if not, it could be a great send-off for “Smallville”. Wonder if Michael Rosenbaum will reprise his role as Lex Luthor for it?

So does that mean the last season will be wrapping up at Christmastime with only half a season? Or will this TV-movie simply be a special event partway through the final season?

Honestly, I stopped watching Smallville after the fifth season. I really think the producers always meant the series to be "Clark Kent in high school" and once they got past his high school years they started floundering. Everything I've read about the series lately indicates that it's become more of Justice League 90210. They really should have gotten Clark into "flights and tights" a few seasons ago, IMHO.

You nailed this Moundshroud. I completely agree with you.

Rumor has it that a 10th season isn't out of the question. I haven't missed an episode yet, the show has definitely been painful the last few years.

I have watched every episode and I definitely agree, once Clark left highschool the show kinda went down hill. There were a few episodes that were actually painful to watch. It would be cool to see a movie but I would want Superman in full attire to make an appearance.
