View Full Version : Who really won in FvJ?

Alright, this forums been kind of quiet lately so lets get some conversation going. I always hear controversy over who really won the fight in the Freddy vs. Jason flick. Usually people say that Jason won because he walked out with Freddys head, but I really need to disagree on that one.

First off. Who went down first? Jason. Who took down (killed) Jason, Freddy did.

Who killed Freddy? Monica Keena (I can't remember her name in the movie), not Jason.

So through simple analysis I really fail to see how Jason "beat" Freddy at all and Freddy dominated Jason during the whole film.

Anyways, that's just my thought, up until that movie I didn't care for the F13 franchise and afterwards I started looking at Jason as a bigger badass, so don't think I'm just trying to hate on him. I'm just staying my opinion *cough* fact. :D

The movie ended with who holding who's head, that's right. Jason was holding Freddy's little nugget in his fingerless hand. Freddy may have inflicted more hits, but against a powerhouse like Jason, it's all trivial. As for the mental trauma, seriously, who the hell mentally attacks someone with the mental capacity of a 5 year old? Cheap one, Freddy.

Yea, if Jason inflicted as much damage on Freddy as he recieved, Freddy would have been reduced to hamburger. Just like the good 'ol energizer bunny though Jason keeps on going. Honestly I don't feel there was a clear cut winner, more of a stalemate, afterall Freddy neither was dead, Jason was just in better condition. Still, the facts are Jason was still on his feet afterwards & even if Monica Keenan hadn't cut off Freddy's head I think his own arm being torn off & thrust through his chest did the job, the decapitation was overkill. Round 1- Jason!

Yes but my point is, Jason did not kill Freddy. Freddy took Jason down and dominated him the whole movie, and Jason picked up Freddys head after someone else killed him. So I fail to see how Jason is the winner in this.

Although, one can assume they're both not dead, because, well, Jason's walking out, and Freddy gives a cute little wink. But that's no fun to argue.

I say again, Freddy was killed by impalement, not beheading. Winner- Jason.

This is going to be a pissing match. But you really think that? I mean, after Freddy killed him, he got a last breath and stuck his arms in him, then died (again, mind you). Freddy was still up until he got decapitated.

Thus, Winner - Freddy.

I refuse to concent, but you know what I think it was left ambiguous for this exact reason.

ExKhaos, you're reaching here. Freddy got his ass handed to him. Seeing how he's just a head now the only thing he could do in Round two would be to bite Jason to death.

Jason didn't kill him though. ;)

I love throwing gas on the fire from overseas so... although Jason didn't behead Freddy, let me know the next time a head can rip off a person's arm and shove it through their body.

If Freddy can control his dusty old bones, you really don't think he cant control a decapitated body? That, and, Freddy is in the mind, so even though his human form was decapitated, he still exists in the brain.

So by your definition, Freddy can never truly be killed. If you want to play with that line of logic, neither can Jason, thus there can never be a winner.

Yes. I or someone else mentioned that in this before. That's probably the ultimate way to resolve this sort of question, but where's the fun in that? :D

I can't beleive this insanity. The only thing Freddy is good for now is giving head. Jason is the man!!!

Homicide

Yea, giving Jason head, why do you think J is carrying Fred's noggin off in the end anyway, kinda makes you rethink that lil wink huh?? Someone's gonna get an eye full!

I guess that's what Jason gets in return after Freddy dominated him the whole movie and then killed him. Jason deserves a little good night head.

I did notice that this film was far more geared towards Freddy fans then Jason. Anyone else think so?

Oh I don't think there's any question of that, but of course you are aware that New Line is known as "The House that Freddy Built"?

aaaahhhhhhhhh right... So why do you think Kane Hodder was pulled from the film? Robert England a little jealous maybe?

Homicide
07-12-2009, 01:42 PM
Actually no, Englund wanted Kane Hodder, he expected it & fought for it. The decision went to dir. Ronny Yu who said he wanted Jason to be more sympathetic & Kane Hodder was too fearsome, regardless it was a shitty call in the end.

Fun little fact; in Jason takes Manhatten, when Jason busts into the diner & chucks the cook over the counter, the cook is played by Ken Kerzinger (FvJ), proving once & for all which Jason wins in a fight! Haha!

On that note, let's just imagine for a second the sheer unadulterated ass-whopping Freddy would've recieved at the hands of a Jason portrayed by Kane Hodder....gives ya goosebumps huh??

Hm. Well, I think the movie may have been geared a little towards Freddy fans, but with that said, I think a lot of Freddy fans became Jason fans through this flick (such as myself). They did a good job of intertwining the stories. I think that Freddy's storyline is far more interesting and deep then Jasons is, but they did a great job of making them both present.

I may get shot for this..but I personally think the best Jason by far was Derek Mears..

Homicide
07-12-2009, 06:17 PM
Yo, I can totally go with ya there, I def agree with Derek being the best Jason. Even though I've been a Kane Hodder 4 life, I think all the actors who've played him have contributed in some way or the other ('cept maybe Warrington Gilette, but that depends who you believe). But yea I like Mears interpretation the best, can't wait for him to get another go!

Oh right, that guy... I just watched this movie again yesterday. The special features on that DVD release are a complete joke.

Yea, it's part of a new trend where all the decent special features are on the Blu-Ray and the dvd is getting the shaft.

My biggest complaint about that movie.. Is we didn't get to see the hottest chicks tits..:(

My biggest complaint was that Jason didn't have a big adversary in this movie. He had Tommy Jarvis for the longest time, and those are some of my favorite F13's, there's just something about having a protagonist that is familiar that makes the antagonist seem all the more badass. Jason had Tommy, Freddy had Nancy, Pinhead had Kirsty, Leatherface had...well he had enough problems to deal with, particularly with his family, you get the point.

They made Jason Freddy's little bitch in this movie and going by the script for the sequel Jason really goes down hill..I went into this movie pretty open minded but half way through this film I really was going for Jason to win.Who were you going for in this fight?

The first Freddy Vs Jason Vs Ash comic series was supposedly based on the unused script for the sequel so if you curious then pick up the trade for this series, pretty damn entertaining & the sequel series is currently coming out.
