"something was made official today!!!!!!!!!" Lindsay Lohan screams on her Twitter page. Two hours later she posted a link to the IMDB page for Robert Rodriguez's Machete, which also features Danny Trejo, Michelle Rodriguez, Jonah Hill, Robert De Niro and even 80's action star Steven Seagal as cast.

Obviously we'll wait for some official confirmation, but it looks like Rodriguez is keeping the grindhouse appeal with the feature film version of his faux trailer. Ethan Maniquis will co-direct the film that follows Machete, a Mexican ex-Federale with a gift for wielding a blade, who hides out as a day laborer...

I think she could realistically pull it off and gain some credibility as an actress, not just a coke whore who had a bad tit job. I think if she is good enough for Robert "I put Selma Hayek in all my movies" Rodriguez, then she is good enough for my taste.

I'm looking forward to this no matter who's in it (well, of course Trejo has to be in it). Grindhouse was one of my favorite flicks in recent years, it was painful to see it bomb at the box office.

I hope Rodriguez knows what he got himself into by casting LiLo (assuming we can even take her tweet as the truth). Her work ethic has been less-than-optimal on some recent projects. It's rather sad that Lohan - who was at one point being positioned to be the next Julia Roberts - is now aspiring to be the lead in a mock-B-movie (granted, with an A-list director). And it would still be a step up from where her career is now. Assuming there's any truth to her tweet.

As for her ginger status, I don't have a problem with it and never quite understood the issue (I have a coworker who loathes redheads for some reason). I much prefer it to that dreadful blonde look she was sporting for awhile. Though I will grant the South Park episode was a riot.

I think LiLo is probably aware that this is an important career move for her and will take the project seriously. I'm wondering if she'll show her tits in the movie. That would be an interesting career move.

But like everyone else here, I'm pretty excited to see the picture no matter who's in it. I loved both Death Proof and Planet Terror.

I just watched Planet Terror again this weekend. I love that movie!! It sucks we have to wait so long for Machette.
