Okay, that's a couple of weeks' worth of hearing about them delicious Blondies. How about a recipe?

Also curious about fluffernutters. Both how to make them and how to find more ways to work that word into everyday discourse.

First, get a wife that can cook. Then...

I'm pretty sure that you blondies don't require any cooking, just baking.

Fluffernutters are even easier -- if you can make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, you have all the requisite skills to make a fluffernutter (just use marshmallow spread instead of jelly.)

The recipe I used .... that other recipe is too cakey for my taste.

Chewy Blondies

1 cup unbleached all purpose flour
1 cup of brown sugar
1 egg
8 tablespoons of butter - melted
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1/2 cup of butterscotch chips (or whatever you happen to like)

Butter an 8x8 pan (or use a little canola oil to coat pan)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Mix ingredients together - pour into prepared pan.
Bake 20 - 25 minutes or until set in middle.
Allow to cool, then cut into squares.
ENJOY!

This is the real stuff - nothing else will do! http://www.marshmallowfluff.com/pages/homepage.html BTW, I can cook too. :)

"Just baking"?? Baking is a skill that I envy, and it's too often undervalued.

Here's to all the master bakers in the world. Here's to Stacy's blondies!

1) I didn't mean to suggest Stacey couldn't cook. I'm sure she's an excellent cook. I was just pointing out that making blondies nor fluffernutters doesn't require someone who can cook. It requires someone who can bake. And who can put spread on a sandwich.

2) I didn't mean to suggest that baking is inferior to cooking, only that it is a separate and different skill.

Note: I'm not the type of internet poster who likes to troll threads and pick fights. I'm just here to hang out and enjoy the company and contribute if I have anything useful to say. Cheers to all.

Thanks Stacey! Have now had a few tasty blondies (my wife made 'em, I should note). Flutternutters are in my future. I may be able to handle those myself.

Now I need to go back into episode 64 and find out what all goes into The Mike sandwich. :D

I dunno if it'll be as good without Mike actually making it for you. That's the real appeal. "Mike, make me a goddamn sandwich!"

Boiled Peanut Cake with Sweet Potatoes and Satsuma Tangerine Slices Recipe

Ingredients

2 cups boiled peanuts, shelled
4 eggs
2 cups mashed sweet potatoes, fresh baked or canned
1 1/4 cups sugar
2 tablespoons syrup
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
6 ounces cream cheese
1/2 stick butter
2 cups confectioners’ sugar
1 cup satsuma tangerine slices, seeded (or use Mandarin oranges)
1/2 cup parched peanuts

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350F. In a blender or food processor, combine boiled peanuts (you may use shelled raw peanuts that have been boiled for 2 hours) and eggs until smooth. Add sweet potatoes, sugar, syrup, baking powder and spices. Process again until smooth.
2. Spray 2 round cake pans with nonstick cooking spray. Fill with batter. Bake 60 minutes. Cool. Be sure cakes are completely cool before removing from pans.
3. Combine cream cheese, melted butter and confectioners’ sugar. Spread between layers and over the top and sides of cake. Decorate with satsumas and parched peanuts. Serves 8.
