You’d hardly call a sports telecast that draws just 4.34 million viewers a big hit — unless it’s the coverage of hockey’s Stanley Cup, when an audience of that size is a big deal. In fact, Saturday’s coverage of the Blackhawks/Flyers first game on NBC produced the best ratings for a Stanley Cup Game 1 since 1999, landing in first place in every half-hour or primetime among adults 18-49. Among viewers overall, it dropped to second place only against the first half-hour of Fox’s America’s Most Wanted with 4.47 million viewers at 9:00 p.m.

It's sad to think that either the Blackhawks or the Flyers will be tarnishing Lord Stanley's Cup for a year.
