So, baby we were born to run, the highway is alive tonight, cause we are dancing in the dark with Sleepaway Camp 2 & 3, but baby, I am on fire and I was born in the usa in my pink cadillac with voicemails from gabby, xander kane and listener of the week steve wands-when he isn’t part of the wild, the innocent and e street shuffle…after we talked to the ghost of tom joad there was a lot of 5 reasons in 5 minutes, streakin’ reviews and darkness on the edge of town. If you wanna... Read More!
Taking a note from my good buddies over at ATTACK OF THE 50 ft. DVD, I've decided to do a Cheap-Ass DVD review using their format. Actually, this was a review that I had submitted to them, but due to the nature of the DVD and it's slightly nefarious back-story, plus the fact that 50 ft. has made an effort throughout it's history to review and feature discs that are easily available through major retail outlets....well, you get the picture. The 1972 documentary has had a cloud of controversy... Read More!
It's a laid back episode this week. Butcher and BC discuss their recent trip to Rhode Island where Butcher picked up approximately 100 laserdiscs while BC doubled his Star Wars collection. Other topics of discussion include Butcher's angry old pain-in-the-ass neighbor, this years 2010 Killer Reviews film festival and upcoming changes to the format of the podcast. Hosts also play Killer Voicemails and plow through an extended edition of Mail Casket. Listen to this Show Now Online!
Chris Seaver is a sickeningly prolific director. And thanks to Netflix, more people are seeing his work than ever before. Indeed, that is how I found out about him years ago... scouring Netflix and finding "Mulva: Zombie Ass Kicker". A few days later it arrived in the mail, and I was both horrified and in awe. Seaver's work is bizarre. His company, Low Budget, is true to its name -- this is the lowest of low budget pictures. Anyone could do what he does. With one difference: under this cheap exterior... In Part II of our two part series, we look at actors who have had their careers flat line as they have aged in Hollywood. We don’t attribute the drop off in their performance to their age necessarily, but there is no denying that some of these heavy weights used to be box office gold. Now, they appear to be sleepwalking their way through paychecks. Our list is not ranked or in any particular order and consists of names that pain us to call out with such an article. Read More!
Hello there fellow trick or treaters, to the special October-fest episode on Gamer's Riot. Tonight we have the whole gang here with special guest's Michael Catlin and Natalie. On tonight's show we review Fable 3, and Starwars: The force Unleashed 2. Talk about how assassins creed series should never go online. We mention what Halloween means for us, which is Pumpkin ale and Samuel Adams October-fest beer. We talk about directors and producers leaving Capcom... Listen now online!
In Death of the Dead, we are introduced to Wanda (Christina Rose), a geeky high-school girl who takes karate lessons from a Master Sensei (Jack Abele) in a feeble attempt to one day be able to stand up for herself against her oppressors that include the school cheerleading squad and a rival gang of male karate kickers. But Wanda’s search for acceptance amongst her peers is put on hold when a bus full of the rival karate... Read More!
Chad and Scarlett are looking for a fresh start. Thanks to the death of their child and Chad’s gambling debts that have violent thugs threatening their well-being, the couple take to the road until a near fatal accident leaves them stranded in the middle of nowhere. Walking to the nearest farmhouse, Chad (William Lee Scott) and Scarlett (Jamie Anne Allman) meet Lilith and Samael (Kelly Hu and Steven Webber) who take them in for the night... Read More!
The stories behind the making of KISS and the Phantom of the Park are far more interesting than the made-for-television result. The film (that is reviled by the four members of KISS to this day) was inspired by a Marvel comic series published about the band and was shown on NBC on October 28, 1978. The highly preposterous storyline had the members of KISS using their special powers to stop a mad... Read More!
Lee AKA TumorEater and Butcher are hanging out the night prior to this year’s Killer Reviews Horror Film Festival, and after five hours of drinking, decide to throw in The Empire Strikes Back on laser disc and record this commentary track. Even if you don’t care to watch the movie while listening to the audio you’ll still get an interesting conversation on not only The Empire Strikes Back, but the Star Wars universe as well. Or at least we hope so. Listen now online!
The ALIEN ANTHOLOGY is a truly unique home entertainment experience. For the first time ever, the studio has united the material from every home video release of the ALIEN saga including the 1991/1992 laserdisc releases, the 1999 “Legacy” release and 2003’s groundbreaking ALIEN QUADRILOGY release into one complete Blu-ray collection. The set also includes two versions of each film and over four hours of previously unreleased... Read More!
One seedy, middle-of-nowhere hotel room -- viewed at three different points in time -- is the scene of most of the action in this film noir that revolves around the mystery of a young woman's abduction and her father's quest to solve it. Drawn again and again to the motel room where his daughter was last seen, Jon (Ben Siegler) can't see what the film's viewers can: what went down in that room before and after the girl disappeared. Take me to the trailer!
For those who don't know, every year during the month of October I host a horror film festival, which is basically a bunch of my friends getting drunk in a cold garage watching bad horror movies. This was the 8th one actually and was the first time in the festival's history that we had people fly in to attend, including our very own GregMo Roberts and TumorEater. As odd as it is... me posting videos of myself... I thought it would be fun to share them with you all. Take me to the videos!
Everything I am going to say is my personal opinion and is in no way trying to personally attack Xander. This show lured me and many others in with...
