Prometheus 2 is going to happen. Or at least that is what it looks like.

Director Ridley Scott released Prometheus in 2012 as a quasi-prequel to the Alien franchise. The film was not exactly met with the love and admiration of say Alien (1979) or Aliens (1986), but it did manage to bring in over $400 million against a $130 million budget.

The prequel was penned by Damon Lindelof and it was his script that was the ire of most of the film’s distracters. So out with the old (Lindelof) and in with the new as 20th Century Fox has announced that writer Jack Paglen will attempt the screenplay (according to The Wrap).

Just who is this Paglen guy? Well, he had his directorial debut with Transcendence starring Johnny Depp, Paul Bettany and Morgan Freeman that is due out sometime in 2014. He also happens to be noted as being Christopher Nolan’s Oscar winning cinematographer. ...

This is a great year to be a Robert Rodriguez fan! Machete Kills, the follow-up to the grindhouse film Machete starring Danny Trejo comes to theatres this fall and just a few weeks later, we get the much anticipated sequel to Frank Miller’s Sin City with Sin City: A Dam to Kill For.

    Wait. What’s that? Shit.

Dimension Films has announced today that Sin City: A Dame to Kill For will no longer be released this fall. In fact, it won’t be released this year!

Slated originally for an October 4, 2013 release, the picture will now his theatres on (gulp) August 22, 2014. So far, there are no other releases scheduled for that date from other studios.

A Dame to Kill For stars Josh Brolin, Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba, Bruce Willis, Rosario Dawson, Jaime King, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Eva Green, Dennis Haysbert, Christopher Meloni, Jeremy Piven, Jamie Chung, ...

Superman, arguably the most famous of all the superheroes is back on the big screen courtesy of visionary director Zach Snyder (300, Sucker Punch) in Man of Steel which hits theatres this Friday.

It’s been 7 short years since we last saw the tights wearing Kryptonian who routinely saves us from terrors domestic and galactic. Bryan Singer’s Superman Returns debuted with much fanfare in 2006, but a weak cookie-cutter story and a release in the shadow of the far superior Batman Begins kept audiences away and critics ...

The second film from Full Moon's GrindhouseFlix 'Nazithon: Decadence and Destruction' is available to watch on Grindhouseflix.com and will be available on DVD July 7, 2013.

Below the war-torn surface of Nazi Germany is a private bunker, built for two. This lecherous lair is the domain of Frau Bombshell (Michelle "Bombshell" McGee), the most sadistically sinful sexpot ever to grace the ranks of the SS! Goose step inside, as she takes you ...

Looks like videogame adaptations are all the rage again. Assassins Creed starring Michael Fassbender is in a form of pre-production as is a version of Splinter Cell. And now we can expect a version of Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon to hit big screens courtesy of producer Michael Bay and Warner Bros. as well.

The “Ghost Recon” games revolve around a fictional unit of the U.S. Army Special Forces that essentially operates as the President’s ...

With an almost $400 million worldwide gross, there was no surprise when Paramount announced that G.I. Joe: Retaliation would generate a sequel. Dwayne Johnson was already contractually bound to a sequel’s decision, but a director had yet to be confirmed.

That is, until today when Deadline.com reported that John M. Chu will again take the reins behind the camera. Chu directed Johnson, Bruce Willis, Ray Stevenson, Adrianne ...

In horror films, humans have been used for many obscure and grotesque purposes. In the Texas Chainsaw Massacre films, a character by the name of Leatherface would skin his victims to make masks out of their flesh. In Motel Hell, a sadistic farmer used humans to aid his garden soil and sold sausages made of their flesh to the locals. And in Sweeny Todd: The Barber of Bourbon Street, our title character would slit the throat of his unsuspecting victims and have them baked into pies for the bakery downstairs.

One of the things I love about my friends (outside of the fact that their rates are by the hour) is that whenever we go out drinking, we are always end up quoting famous movie lines throughout the evening. Everything from “You can’t handle the truth” to “Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die.” might be uttered through casual conversation between libations.

This is not an uncommon practice amongst friends. Even if you are unaware of the reference, I am sure everyone has had another friend quote a famous movie line while in their company. I know my fair share of quotes – “You’re gonna need a bigger boat”; “It was beauty that killed the beast”; “Yes, they deserved to die and I hope they burn in hell!”. But for all my quote references, I am not as good at echoing famous speeches in films. And there have been plenty. And I wish I could ramble them ...

If it happens, it can’t be that much of a surprise. Showbiz 411 is reporting that actor Mel Gibson is in talks to play the villain in the upcoming Expendables 3 film set to start shooting later this year.

This is the second time that the Lethal Weapon star has had his name attached to the project. Earlier this year, Sylvester Stallone released a tweet which had many of us thinking that the Passion of the Christ director might be calling ...

Now here is some news that I can stick my kitchen knife into. According to John Carpenter’s facebook page, there may be a new commentary track for the upcoming Halloween 35th Anniversary Blu-ray due out later this year.

Although there is no official word from Anchor Bay, Carpenter wrote:

"Just recorded a commentary track for it with Jamie Lee Curtis [sic] yesterday."

Fans of the Halloween films should be stoked. Fans ...

After hearing the recent news that Paramount will be making new Friday the 13th films one of our regulars decided to give us his take on how the next film should go down. We love the idea!)

So would you guys prefer sequels to the originals, sequels to the reboot, or yet another complete reboot?

I always thought it would be cool to remake the original, but not as a "who ...

As I head into my early forties I find that my stress tolerance has decreased in my elderly years. Things bug me. Every things. Maybe I just don’t understand the world, the youth, the movements, the fashions of the new generations. Maybe I am turning into my father. Or maybe I am the norm and only by sharing my beefs or lack of understandings will I find comfort in the ‘there-there’ embrace of those who share the same opinion.

So I started a list of the things that bugged me just this month. Those things that I just couldn’t let go. In the order in which they were encountered, ...

It has been hailed as "amazingly disturbing" (Dread Central), "extreme and uncompromised" (Roger Ebert) and "one of the best true crime films ever made" (DVD Talk). Now from the punishing mind of writer/producer/director Jim Van Bebber comes his epic of hallucinatory horror like you've never seen it before: This is the ultimate account of Charles Manson and his followers, a blood-soaked saga that takes you from their drug-fueled orgies, to their ...

Dark Souls was easily my favorite game that I played in 2012. As a life long gamer it was more than refreshing to see such a creative game full of challenges, crazy ass boss fights, secrets and non hand holding and rewarding game play. I was hoping the sequel would be releasing this fall, but we're not that lucky. Namco Bandai Europe has confirmed to Eurogamer this week that Dark Souls 2 will be released in March 2014. No more specific day-and-date ...
