DOOM reboot - is it needed?

Do you remember that awesome DOOM movie in 2005 starring Dwayne Johnson? Well, it felt like my birthday today when I found out that Universal Pictures is looking to reboot the franchise.

The studio is rumoured to be looking for writers (don’t know why – DOOM 2005 didn’t need any) and no stars, director, release date or sane reason why was leaked with the rumour.

Are we in need of a DOOM reboot? And does the game deserve another big screen shot?

I quite liked "Doom" the movie, And it was pretty brave having 'The Rock' be a bad guy.

But it was more 'Doom 3' (which was not that 'Doom' like really) than classic 'Doom/Doom 2'.
So I would like to see a proper 'Doom' adaptation based more on the first 2 classic games for sure.
