I am not suggesting that my interest has increased for the remake of Fright Night arriving in theatres in a few weeks, but hope does spread eternal now that the 3D remake has been handed an R-rating from the MPAA.
I'll pass til I can Netflix it.

I was shocked by how much Colin Farrell looked good for the part.
My favourite sexual position is the magician. I take a girl from the street, screw her, saw her in half and then make her disappear.

The film is not yet complete. Shooting is done, but editing is still ongoing to meet the August 12 release date. Therefore, no critics have yet screened the movie to voice an opinion.
However, the movie is tracking impressively high with audience interest. It's tracking at 90+% which is on par with Super 8 (X-Men tracked at 88%) . Highest tracking film of the summer is Captain America, followed by Green Lantern and Harry Potter. Horror movies don't generally track above the 85% mark.
Groan!
It's released the same day as Spy Kids 4 and Conan the Barbarian, so there are plenty of options for the family that week-end.
Add that the week-end before, the only film of note being released is Final Destination 5, Fright Night does have a good week-end to make some noise.
I expect though a $15 million opening with 3D helping the cause.
