I can't honestly say that I can intelligently comment on the Godzilla franchise. I have seen many of his films, but never really more than once and they all kinda blend it together for me.
I only own one - Godzilla vs. The Smog Monster. And Gawd is it bad!

This is a blind spot in my viewing. I've only seen some of the old ones.
Tough decision
I missed this poll, but I had to chime in. Godzilla's just about one of my favorite things in the world. My son and I spent two weeks together last year watching every one of the films which he loved.
GMK: Battle for Earth is ultimately the best for me. Godzilla's never looked so sinister and the fights are knockdown ugly. You even see civilians killed in the aftermath for the first time since the original.
Coming up very closely behind is Final Wars. I loved the over the top fun of it and was a great way to send him out for retirement.
