Tuned in on my lovely new HTC One X, cracking podcast especially because of your dig at the Oscars. We've had movies like Machine Gun Preacher yet that shitty silent movie bags the lot. I just fail to see how a silent movie could win so many awards, it could be the most amazing shot piece of "art" going but the fact remains .. ITS SILENT AND THE YEAR IS 2012.
I bet within the next three years they will go the complete polar opposite and start awarding them to shit like Battleship.

I feel the same Arthur. I like the Oscars as well, but The Artist just kills me. You make the movie in color and with dialoague and you have nothing special. It's whole marketing ploy was on the fact that it's a silent film! Who the hell cares to see that? Even back when I was a kid, my parents were taking us to see Fantasia in the theatre, and when the manager came out and told everyone it was just music and no talking, practically everyone left including us. And that was the early 80's! I have said it before. as a stand alone film, it is probably a good film, but it is hardly an Oscar worthy film in any stretch of the imagination. Honest to god, last year, it pissed me off so much, I might be done with the Oscars!
I hate you all.
You guys should boycott the Oscars, you just don't get it.
