Ben Affleck might have won back fans with his directorial effort of The Town (2010) and his recent acting efforts in The Company Men (2010). But that still might not have us letting him off the hook entirely for 2003’s Daredevil.
In the much maligned superhero film directed by Mark Steven Johnson (Simon Birch, Ghost Rider), Affleck played Matt Murdock, a blind attorney-at-law who is also a red-suit wearing superhero.
That taste will either get awfully sweet or awfully sour now that Twentieth Century Fox has tapped director David Slade (30 Days of Night) to reboot the Daredevil franchise based on a script rewrite by David James Kelly.
According to Deadline, the new Daredevil movie will be adapted from the Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli storyline, ‘Born Again’ which was originally run by Marvel comics in 1986. The story involves The Kingpin (played by Michael Clarke Duncan in the 2003 edition) learning Murdoch’s secret identify.
No date for release or start of production has been set.

Tired of remakes and even more tired of comic book movies. After this summer with Spider-man, DKR, and Avengers, I'm done for a long time.
It's a Sweater!
Daredevil's one of my favorite characters so a new film by what I feel is one of the most under-utilized directors out there today sounds great to me. Hopefully less random see-saw fights this time.
