Awesome awesome first episode! It was great fun. I know just what you mean by the pretentiousness of some game podcasts. I listen to Weekend Confirmed every now and then but their "we're journalists and it's cool" tone puts me off. The only other casts I can listen to are CAGcast, All Gen Gamers, and Operation Kill Screen so it's nice that your new show gives me something fun to listen to for games.

It's amazing the dedication you guys can put into stuff like Final Fantasy. I used to be able to play RPGs and the like hardcore as a teen but as I got older, I gravitated to more action-oriented games, with open-world games like GTA and racing games (which is weird because I;m not a car guy at all) being my current favorite genres. Playing 20 hours to get a single weapon alone sounds ludicrous to me but at the same time I really admire it. Reminds me of the old days for me.

It was also great to hear about the new Silent Hill. It sounds great. Silent Hill's been my favorite series for years so I love any discussion about it. I've actually been planning a big event where I play through every game in the series in order but it's probably going to have to wait a while since I have to get my stuff out of storage as well as pick up a few systems I don't own to accomplish it. If you're interested in trying them out, Butcher, the new HD collections would probably be a good place to start as part 2's the big gun in the series. And I believe you can get the first one on PSN if you have a PS3.

Thanks for taking the time to write an extended comment. I love reading these!

I was thinking about playing all the Silent Hill games as well. Maybe some day!

Well, after burning through the entire back catalog of KR podcasts (that were available on iTunes), I filled the void with Gamers Shouldn't Play with Dead Things. I haven't owned a console since the Sega Genesis and rarely game (just the odd one on my iPhone), but I still found this show entertaining! Enough so that I'll for sure be grabbing 2 & 3—and it even inspired me to give gaming a go again...we'll see...

What about 'Diggin Up the 80's?'. I've never checked it out, but I think they're still available. I've been revisiting a lot of the old podcasts. They have good re-listenability!

Well, I was saving it for Friday, but I got the first 8 episodes of Digging Up The 80s loaded onto my iPhone for our drive up to Skoot! Can't wait!

Fuck ya! Nice work Boyk. They're calling for rain and snow so we might need a lot of entertainment for the tent.
