Thread: My Novel THE WICKED, Now Available In Paperback

Default My Novel THE WICKED, Now Available In Paperback

Edited to add: I was half-asleep when I wrote that. Don't know HOW the hell I made such a stupid typo . . . "paperwork?". Is there any way to edit the title thread?

Anyway . . I just wanted to share some cool news with my friends here at KR . . . .

The paperback edition of my novel THE WICKED has just been released. If you grew up with those old 80's "evil in a small town" horror novels like I did, I think you'll get a kick out of THE WICKED. This new edition pays tribute to the tales that inspired it, not only in the story itself but the book even looks as if it came from that era as well . . . fun, fun stuff!

“THE WICKED is a good old-fashioned, unabashed Horror novel. James Newman remembers when horror used to be fun, and he’s recaptured it here in all of its gory glory. A terrifying page-turner in the tradition of Graham Masterton, J.N. Williamson, and Richard Laymon. WICKEDly good reading from one of horror’s new heirs!”

    —Brian Keene (THE RISING, GHOUL)

“Demons, depravity and despair, oh my! Reminiscent of the best of 80’s horror and Bentley Little at his most grotesque and unrelenting, THE WICKED is the kind of horror we don’t see enough of anymore. This is one wild and bloody ride, and in the capable hands of James Newman, it’s one worth taking.”

—Kealan Patrick Burke (THE TURTLE BOY, KIN)

    FROM THE PUBLISHER'S SITE:

Shock Totem Publications is pleased to announce that our first non-magazine release, James Newman’s fantastic ode to 1980s horror, THE WICKED, is now available for purchase.

THE WICKED has been revised by the author, expanded with a new foreword by Mark Allan Gunnells, a new afterword by the author, and brilliant new artwork and illustrations by Jesse David Young (with additional cover layout by Yannick Bouchard). Also included is a brand new, exclusive tie-in short story written specifically for this release.

The book is currently available through our website and Amazon.com as a trade paperback for $14.99 and as an e-book for $4.99. We will keep you updated as it becomes more widely available through other retailers in the coming days and weeks.

I have the hardback edition. One of my favorite's of J.N.'s work to date. I highly recommend it!

Much appreciated, pal. My twelve kids thank you -- they will get to eat. Well, a couple of them will -- royalties ain't much.

All joking aside: I look forward to hearing what you think about my nod to those old 80s horror novels.
