    Default Review: Piranha 3DD

    Ahhh, crap!

When director Alexandre Aja (High Tension) brought us Piranha 3D in 2010, I was there opening week-end in line to lap up all the blood soaked titty action. I laughed at all the right places and enjoyed seeing Elizabeth Shue, Ving Rhames, Richard Dreyfuss and even Adam Scott fight the terribly hungry fishies - unleashed after a tremor - that are set loose on a bodacious bods enjoying spring break.

Two years later and we have Piranha 3DD, this time directed by John Gulager (Feast) and the title and the trailers would lead a unsuspecting public to believe that there will be more gore, more blood and boobs in the second installment.

    Ahhh, crap!

If it does suck I'm glad Alexandre Aja had nothing to do with it.
A couple of years ago after seeing High tension and the Hills remake, I had hopes for him as one of the new best in horror. However Mirrors and P2 in my opinion were average at best. But Pirrana kicked ass and I will still see this one, even if I hear it's bad, I just got to.

I was kind of afraid of it turning out like that. The trailers all had a really janky vibe that felt too much like his Feast 3 which I hated. Unfortunate.

And I wish we could have a moratorium on Hasselhoff playing himself in movies for a joke. It's gone on way too long.
