You had the chance to interview Sean Astin, and you turn it down? He may not have the same career as he did when he was younger but he would be one of the better, most known, and most entertaining interviews you have ever had on KR. No offense, but you just interview people in one genre, and majority of people no one has heard of, other than the regulars here. If you want more people on this site, you need to branch out a bit ,and do interviews that the average person would know so you can grab new listeners. That would be the perfect interview for an 80's show! I cannot believe you said no to him. I've noticed that over the past year or so, you have mentioned on the show how many interviews you said "no" to. Personally, I hate interviews unless they are a person of interest.
The Avengers: Liked everyones lists but it's funny, I found Black Widow to be the least interesting character and you all pretty much loved her. At least Butch had some credible evidence to why he liked her, Brainchomper just says he loves her. Hawkeye was kinda cool, but I have never seen him in a comic book before. I got him mixed up with Green Arrow. It's cool to see The Hulk finally getting some love from everyone, especially Hollywood. He is back to true comic book form and could not be happier.
I have to agree with Gregmo on the end credit scene. If they make you wait till after the credits to see them eat at a restaurant and stare at each other, not only are you disappointed, but you are left with "that's it?" Remember the Fast Five after credit sequence? (Who doesn't) That scene blew you away because it not only set up part six but teased at a returning character. Now thats how you do it. Even the one that showed the villain for the next one, left me scratching my head, because if you didn't know who he is, it's not exciting. I would figure they would have had a scene showing Spiderman/Peter Parker would be joining the Avengers in part 2. Now THAT would have been boss!! Concidering the new movie is out this summer, and Spiderman is apart of the Avengers in the comic, it's a no brainer.
A side note on talk about Christopher Nolan and Batman. He is a great director, but he didn't reinvent the Comic Book movie. He just made a decision to put the character of Batman into a realistic world and he was the only one who wanted to do so. Every other director wanted to make the character like the comic. My point is, if any other director decided to do the same thing, the movies would be just as good. My beef is that with every comic book movie that comes out, people bring up what Nolan did for Batman. Batman was a real guy that can easily be placed in a realistic world. His batcave, and vehicles are more down to earth and looked like they are man made with todays technology and not from space. That would not work in the worlds of the Avengers or Superman.
I would have LOVED to be apart of the show, but I was at work when you emailed me. Maybe next time? On a future episode if you record on a Saturday? Also Nice song at the end!! Love Buckcherry!
