This was the first non-superhero comic I picked up when I began collecting a little in 1997. I stuck around for the whole series and now I own pretty much anything he stars in except early appearances in Demon.
Tommy is a Gotham assassin, hangs out at a bar all day, has trouble with women, and has the greatest group of friends known to man. He has the ability to read minds, but using the powers gives him the world's worst migraine. It's unfortunate some stupid movies called "Hitman" have been released, including the 2007 one based on the video game. Taking one of the story arcs from the series would make a great movie, but audiences might be confused about the name or just not interested.
My favorite Garth Ennis book, including Preacher.
I remember reading a lot about Hitman in Wizard back in the day. I always meant to pick those up but still haven't gotten around to it.
A couple of my favorites:
On the Marvel side, I love Moon Knight, especially his series that was out round the Civil War era. Moon_knight_inline_3.jpg
On DC, I loved Simon Dark which was canceled pretty quick. Basically, it was kind of a Frankenstein-kind of tale with a hero being made from the bodies of 20 dead boys. 1213_simondark3.jpg
