If you were of the pessimistic side of the idea that a Bill and Ted 3 movie might actually go into production, well you can do an about face and show some optimism now that the project has officially gotten itself a director.
We head last month that stars Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter were attached and excited about the idea of reprising their roles as the two simple minded high school students Bill Preston and Ted Logan that travel through time and meet some of history’s most interesting characters. And now it is being reported by Vulture that Dead Parisot (Galaxy Quest) will be yelling out orders as the director behind the camera.
Creators of the original two films, Ed Solomon and Chris Matheson have already completed a script which sets the two characters in today’s world.
"When we last got together, part of it was that Bill and Ted were supposed to have written the song that saved the world, and it hasn't happened," Reeves said. "So they've now become kind of possessed by trying to do that. Then there's an element of time and they have to go back."
Parisot is busy directing Red 2 so the project will not be going into production until likely 2013, but it looks like it is definitely happening.

i have absolutely no excitement for this
This should be fun! I'm kinda interested to see what they do with the characters now that they are older. The downside is that they were teenagers in the first two films, so to see two 40 yr old men doing "air guitar" and saying "Bogus" "No Way!" or "Catch ya later dudes" doesn't seem quite the same. I am still curious to see where they go with this.
Excellent! (insert air guitar here)
so this is actually happening? lol
i loved the first 2, so i will def watch this, just not hyped up about it

I've been pretty negative about this, but to be fair the second film blew the first out of the water, so you never know...
