Universal Wants Jim Carrey for Kick-Ass 2
Alllllllllrighty then! Deadline has a report that comic actor Jim Carrey is being pursued by Universal Pictures to play Colonel Stars in the sequel to Matthew Vaughn’s Kick-Ass.
The cast already includes Aaron Johnson, Chloe Moretz, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, John Leguizamo, Donald Faison, Robert Emms, Yancy Butler and Morris Chestnut in the adaptation of the Mark Millar and John Romita, Jr. comic. And Carrey is being sought to play the superhero who founds Justice Forever – a Justice League of America for misfits if you will.
Matthew Vaughn will not be directing the sequel – those duties go to Jeff Wadlow – but it will be Vaughn’s script that they take their cues from.
