One of the films we have the most excitement for coming in 2013 is Jose Padilha’s Robocop. A reboot of the popular 80’s franchise that starred Peter Weller, the 2013 edition will star Joel Kinnaman, Gary Oldman, Samuel L. Jackson, Jackie Earle Haely and Jay Baruchel.
The internet let up with news two weeks ago that Hugh Laurie (House M.D.) had agreed to play the villain in the film, but we later learned that talks between the two groups did not materialize in his attachment.
That left the bad guy up for grabs, and yesterday, Deadline reported that Michael Keaton (Batman, Beetlejuice) will now emote in the role of Raymond Sallers, the evil CEO of Omnicorp.
Robocop is hitting theatres on August 9, 2013.
