It’s official. Ace Ventura: Pet Detective has become a superhero. Of sorts. Jim Carrey, the Canadian rubber-faced comedian that starred in such hits as Liar, Liar and The Mask has been cast as The Colonel in Jeff Wadlow’s sequel to Matthew Vaughn’s Kick-Ass.
The new film, presently in pre-production has the tongue-in-cheek title of Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall and will see the return of Chloe Moretz, Aaron Johnson, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Nicholas Cage who is a good friend of Carrey’s after acting together in Peggy Sue Got Married (1986).
Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall brings the costumed high-school hero Kick-Ass joins with a group of normal citizens who have been inspired to fight crime in costume. Meanwhile, the Red Mist plots an act of revenge that will affect everyone Kick-Ass knows. Meanwhile, the Red Mist plots an act of revenge that will affect everyone Kick-Ass knows.
Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall will be released on June 28, 2013.
