Gina Carano is Expendable

With the moderate success of The Expendables franchise, we got word that production company, 1984 Private Defense Contractors, was looking to produce a female version of the action flick.

Internet rumors began swirling as to who should be cast – Milo Jovovich, Michelle Rodriguez, Zoe Bell – but only now do we have our first cast member.

Gina Carano (Haywire, Fast & Furious 6) has signed on to the Adi Shankar project even though there is no script, no director and no one else immediately eminent on joining.

"I don't know how I'm supposed to make a movie that is supposed to be the female version of 'The Expendables' without Gina Carano in it," Shankar told the trade. "It would be like making Twix without caramel or Jamba Juice without jamba."
