I'm surprised more people aren't excited about this. Maybe it's old news???
That was the first I saw a trailer for the new Tron.
I just can't get that excited. I saw Tron when it was first released, and other than the gee-whiz factor of the computer imagery, it wasn't very memorable.
The light cycles are probably the coolest aspect of the original movie, so it makes sense to feature them in the trailer. It's a nice showcase for the effects, but it doesn't feel compelling.
Maybe I'll feel differently about the trailer once I see it on the big screen. As handy as it is to view movie trailers online, it still doesn't have the same impact as when projected on a forty-foot screen with a state-of-the-art sound system.
Interesting. I thought TRON was all the rage. I'm not even sure if I've seen the original. I know I tried playing the XBOX game and that wasn't very good.
But I am curious to see what they do with the new movie. I'm looking forward to seeing what Jeff Bridges does.
I'll probably see it when it comes the the theaters regardless. It's going to be a 3D release, and - as with the original - it will probably be worth the ticket just for the eye candy alone.
I never played the TRON XBox game, but I certainly pumped a lot of quarters into the TRON arcade game back in the 80s. That was a frustrating experience - the tank battle was fun, but I could never master the light cycles.
I was looking to get the stand-up arcade of this game in my basement but it was around 1500 bucks. That's crazy money!! I think it's because the cabinet was so nice. But I do enjoy the arcade game. It's on XBOX-Live Arcade.
My uncle used to have the Tron arcade in his bar. I played the shit out of that thing when I was a kid.
I'm looking forward to this new movie too.
I like Jello...
