Holy Shit Homicide. You liked Requiem. Tell me you fell asleep multiple times during this one. I struggle to come up with anything about that movie that wasn't terrible. It's the worst cash-in I've ever seen. At times it looked like they were just shaking an Alien puppet at the camera. I watched it twice because I couldn't believe it was bad as I initially thought. I hated it just as much the second time. Maybe I just like both franchises too much.

You know my biggest complaint about it is that it isn't well-lite, but it's so much more violent and mean spirited than the first one, I enjoy it lots! It's so refreshing to see a Predator that doesn't go down against a couple aliens like a bitch, and I thought the hybrid was pretty cool, loved the way it reproduced: fucked up! But the movie is too damn dark!

It's so refreshing to see a Predator that doesn't go down against a couple aliens like a bitch, and I thought the hybrid was pretty cool, loved the way it reproduced: fucked up! But the movie is too damn dark!

I thought the reproduction of the Predalien was repulsive and unnecessary. AvP isn't supposed to be that dark and twisted.

I still thought the Predator was too clumsy. The Predators in the first AvP were considered adolescents on their "right of passage" so it made sense that they weren't seasoned. You get the impression Requiem's Predator was a badass "cleaner", but he made too many mistakes. He did not live up to Arnold's or Danny Glover's Predator.

It was too dark and the puppeteering was awful.

I don't like the existence of Predaliens. I wish an Alien was an Alien and they didn't use DNA from the host.

The only thing I like was how the blond girl got it. In most movies she would have lived. The fight in the sewers was cool too.

The first AvP had a good Ripley stand-in. Requiem did not.

I'd also much rather watch Aliens and Predators kill each other in small town America where there's plenty of potential for collateral damage than in BFE where everyones safe.
Ripley Stand-in was unnecissary and poor, the girl who sided with the Predator in the original comic from the early 90s was a much better character!

aVp R was a darkley lit film Technically flawed in some parts but so was Predator 1 and 2. However it was everything that AvP wasnt. A violent chaotic slaughter fest. Violent kills check. Decent character development check. Predalien was savage and killed a whole ward of pregnant mothers to be. How the fuck could you not like it ? Requiem's predator was a badass and when he got his ass kicked it was more to showcase how formitable the Aliens are. It also payed homage to its Alien/Predator predesesors with some lines and character similarities. It rocked!
