The Acorn - Glory Hope Mountain. Fucking brilliant.
I'd be the first to agree that the guy didn't hit the mark all of the time. The reggae stuff in the '70s, much as it's acclaimed or whatever, I could do without. Also, Lemon Incest is a fucking wonderful album by his daughter (albeit creepy as hell, in a tongue in a cheek kinda way) but I could understand picking, well, pretty much anything off that. Her voice is, uh, an acquired taste.
Anyway, we'll see. I may curse you to the high heavens, I may not.
I bought Angel City's album Two Minute Warning for a dollar and I've been listening to this song quite a bit...
... just found out Michael Bruce, Dennis Dunaway, and Neal Smith apparently recorded 3 new songs with Alice Cooper for his upcoming solo album with Bob Ezrin producing!

I remember buying Pacific Ocean Blue for £1.00 in a second hand shop in the early 90s (before all the acclaim).I'm a big Beach Bys fan but can't say I'm in too much of a rush to hear Brian Wilson's interpretation of Gershwin."The Redemption of Brian wilson" is a book you would like.
GGG, what was the duet Peaches did with Iggy Pop? She's a real eccentric and that's what music needs more of these days.
"Les Succettes" is a smutty classic too an". "Erotica" by Rita and "Femmes" by Nathalie et Christins -need to be on hits from Hell one day. Pond store versions of "Je Taime" bit quite fun...
Btw, last week's show has got me on hooked on 60s Bubblegum and cartoon songs again. I dug out my Archies albums and listened to "Pretty Mary Sunshine" from Scooby Doo on Youtube
It's rainy and weird so I'm bugging out to this flippy comp of Turkish raga-psyche and now everything is throbby and purple omg somebody call an am-balance.
From a land of minarets and mosques, comes this compilation of some of the best garage and psych music from a country where psychedelic music flourished for a decade: A period in which Turkish rock musicians mixed the oriental overtones of their traditional folk music with Acid rock.
