Interview:
So Nicole, you seem to be
racking up quite a horror resume. Do you have a thing
for karo syrup and adhesives?
Shhh! Who told you? Those
things are supposed to be private.
What are some of the films
that you remember scaring the shit out of you when you
were growing up?
"IT"!!!!! The one about the clown. I've watched plenty
of them but that is about the only one that stands out.
Something about it all happening to them as kids and all
that blood and, oh yeah, then there's the CLOWN!!! What
kid doesn't have nightmares after watching that movie?
Oh, and Michael Jackson's Thriller video. That threw me
for a loop too. Shut up, don't laugh.
In your own words, can you
tell us what your new film BLUR is about?
It's a psychological thriller about a man who doesn't
quite see things the way they are, but it's done so
well, the audience really has a surprise waiting for
them at the end. An artist, played by Salvator Xuereb,
is being tortured by his own delusions throughout the
film. The film sounds really simple when it's described,
but there's nothing simple about it when you watch it.

Would you say the film is
more of a horror or thriller? Judging from your plot
description it sounds like it could be both.
I would say more thriller because there really isn't a
villain going around killing off all the cast. It's more
so just suspenseful and with a great twist at the end.
Somewhat like THE SIXTH SENSE meets, well, I don't know what
it meets, but it's good.
Please talk about your
character for a bit. I don't suppose you play a sexy
alien that walks around naked covered in slime do you?
Maybe? Please???
Just the naked part. No really, my character is just a
college student that comes over to pose for the artist.
Very uneventful sorry to report. But the conversation is
important and then I show up later to his party in all
my clothes thank you very much, and I have more
important conversation with various other party goers.
I'm just one of those characters that helps to move the
story forward, and I happen to be a little eye candy
along the way.
BLUR seems like a step-up
when compared to your previous film CANDY STRIPERS. By
that I mean, more serious in tone and more to the story.
Was that an
intentional choice?
Well I didn't go looking for it necessarily, but yes, it
is a step up in that regard. It's probably the biggest
budget film, excluding the tiny part in "The Terminal".
Definitely the most "grown up", and by that I mean, the
script, cast, production... I'm proud to have been in
this movie. It makes me feel really credible.
What do you like most about
shooting horror movies?
I love watching the special effects being prepared. Come
on, so much time and effort into one effect. In BOO, a
pipe is dug into one boys head, his arm falls off, his
face slides down, I get a bullet in my skull, then I
come back to life and I'm all sunken in with prosthetics
and the list goes on. How fun is all of that? It really
impresses me. And in BLUR, the film gets pretty dark at
one point, and the special effects of someone almost
cutting off a guys hand, is so believable and realistic,
it's almost hard to watch.
A little off topic but, if
you could be slain by any horror movie villain or
monster which would it be and why?
Oh, easy, Dracula played by Gary Oldman,
sexy, sexy, sexy. Even as an old wrinkly evil Dracula
with those long nails and that up do he sported. He can
kill me any day. OK, so now you know my type. The ugly
bad boy.

During my intense research I
saw that you've done some sexy magazine spreads. Have
you ever done nudity in film? I assume directors must
ask you, right? I mean, we are talking about the horror
genre here.
Sure, but you know what's funny? I've donned my boobs
twice for full on comedy, and a fully nude shot for
BLUR. And BLUR isn't even the cheap "B" Horror genre. I
don't have a problem with nudity in film, (which is a
complete contradiction to the way I was raised which is
Southern Baptist., My parents clearly do not share my
view on this topic.) But I do put thought into it before
saying OK, or not. It definitely depends on content
and it's purpose. And I'm a lot quicker to do it for
comedy than horror.
So if you had a Saturday
off, like you woke up with nothing on the agenda. What
would you do?
Some say sleep when you die, I say Sleep on your day
off. My dream day off would be, sleep late, take a ride
on my motorcycle out to the beach, Manhattan or Malibu,
maybe take a nap or just close my eyes a while on the
sand, hit "Sushi Dan" on the way home and have every
flavor mochi for dessert, then go to a movie and have
popcorn and a soda! Most importantly I wouldn't answer a
phone, look at my computer, or think of any
responsibilities all day.
OK. Back to BLUR. So when
can we see this film?
It's out now. It was released to video April 17th. Just
keep an eye out at your local video store or you can
order it from places like Amazon.com.
So what are you working on
now Nicole?
Well, my next film is being released sometime in 2007
called COUGAR CLUB. Total comedy, great cast, check it
out on IMDB. I'm really excited to see this one. My part
isn't leading like most of my films, but it could be my
best character yet and maybe my best acting so far, so
watch out for Casey Dixon, with a lisp! And I have a
pilot in the works, but not much to report on it yet.
Other then that, just always trying to update my
site, keep up with fans, and get out there, ya know? Let
the world know I'm here.
Any final comments or
thoughts my dear?
Thank you for the interview. I liked your questions,
they have a sense of humor to them. I think it's
important to be able to laugh at yourself and see the
humor in almost everything in life. Take care, and maybe
we'll talk again soon.
Love,
Nic
