This just in – Exorcism’s are in fashion.

Emily Rose had one.  Eli Roth produced The Last Exorcism.  And The Devil Inside opened to big numbers in January. 

Still, it comes as a surprise (to us, anyways) that 40 years after Linda Blair spun her head around and spewed pea soup at a priest  a 10-part television series based on William Peter Blatty’s best selling book is being prepped for the small screen.  

Sean Durkin (Martha Marcy May Marlene) is adapting a script and Morgan Creek is the production company that will front the money. 

According to Vulture, the television series will follow more the events leading up to the possession and the effects on the family unit.
