You’ve heard of The X-Men. You’ve seen The Avengers. And you may know a thing or two about The Defenders. But how about Marvel’s other superhero collection – Big Hero 6?
If you haven’t heard of them, you are not alone. But all that might change now with the announcement that Walt Disney Studios animation and Marvel intend on aligning themselves for feature based on the group that includes Sunfire, Silver Samurai, Hiro, Bayman, Go-Go Tomago and Honey Lemon. Yes, Honey Lemon.
Disney has confirmed back to EW that the idea is in the very early stages of development and will follow in line with the adaptation of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy that is also in a form of development.
Big Hero 6 originated out of Marvel’s Alpha Flight series, but their first true appearance was in 1998’s Sunfire and Big Hero 6 #1. Wikipedia has the following description of the group: “When the Japanese government wanted a team of state-sanctioned super-heroes at their disposal, a top-secret consortium of politicians and business entities known as the Giri was formed to recruit and train potential superhuman operatives for Big Hero 6."
