A lot has been written about the cast of Tarantino’s Django Unchained what with Leonardo DiCaprio, Jamie Foxx, Don Johnson and Christoph Waltz all attached. But let’s not overlook the cast of Steven Spielberg’s biopic Lincoln which boasts a cast that includes Daniel Day Lewis, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Tommy Lee Jones, Sally Field, James Spader, John Hawkes, Jared Harris, Jackie Earl Haley and David Strathairn.
Spielberg’s film will not have the former President of the United States fighting vampires, but they will have to fight vampires at the box office when released this November.
Disney has just announced that Lincoln will be released on November 16th, the same date as Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part II. Of course, Spielberg’s history lesson will lose little if no box office business to the sparkling vampires as the target demographics for each release could not be more different.
According to MTV, “This adaptation of Doris Kearns Goodwin's book "Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln" has a screenplay by Pulitzer-prize winner Tony Kushner and will focus on Lincoln's life during his presidency (1861 to 1865 in case you're a little rusty on the exact years).”
