Hard to believe that Robin Williams has not appeared on the big screen (in live-action form) since 2009’s Old Dogs. Maybe the comedian and Academy Award winning actor went back to Ork to fill in Orson on his worldly adventures.
The versatile actor is set to return to film however and will appear as President Dwight D. Eisenhower in Lee Daniel’s new project, The Butler. Based on A Butler Well Served by This Election by Wil Haygood, The Butler will tell true story of Eugene Allen who spent 34 years working in the Whitehouse starting in 1952 and the Harry Truman administration. Haygood completed his work on 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. for Ronald Reagan in 1986.
Williams joins a star studded cast that includes Forest Whitaker, Oprah Winfrey, John Cusack, Alan Rickman, Jane Fonda, Cuba Gooding Jr, David Oyelowo, Lenny Kravitz, Terrence Howard, Alex Pettyfer and Minka Kelly. |
