Actor Jackie Earle Haley is slowing amassing an impressive resume of film roles. After taking a break from acting after Maniac Cop 3: Badge of Silence in 1993, Haley returned to the screen 13-years later with his role in Little Children – a role that nabbed him a well deserved Oscar nomination.
From playing Freddy Krueger in the Nightmare on Elm Street remake through his roles in Watchman and the supporting role in Tim Burton’s Dark Shadows, Haley has been working non-stop ever since.
This year, Haley can be seen in Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln due out this November, and in 2013 Haley can be seen in the reboot of the Robocop franchise.
Deadline has reported that Jackie Earle Haley signed yesterday to play Maddox, a military officer who will be responsible for the training of Alex Murphy/Robocop post injury.
Robocop now boasts a cast that includes Haley, Samuel L. Jackson, Gary Oldman and Hugh Laurie. Filming begins in Toronto, Canada in August.
