When Arnold Schwarzenegger informed us all of his intention to leave the Governor’s Mansion and to head back to the movies, who knew that ‘back’ was the operative word.
Arnold, who is doing a press tour for his new tell-all book, Total Recall, has already gone on record as saying that he would love to go back and star in sequels to Twins, True Lies and the Terminator franchise. And this week while in Europe, Arnold told MadMovies.com that he is also working on a Conan the Barbarian remake.
Yip. The Conan franchise that just got rebooted last year with Jason Momoa might get yet another reboot with the now 65-year-old actor reclaiming his sword.
Arnold told the website that he is working with screenwriter John Millius and that, “We’ve already had discussion about this, because it’s a project that is dear to me. I must first shoot Ten with David Ayer, but then we’re going to focus on Conan. It remains to be seen who will direct and if John Millius will write the script.”
Hmmm. We have to admit that having Arnold back in another Terminator or a True Lies film might be something that we are ultimately interested in. But having the Social Security eligible actor play Conan the Barbarian some thirty years after embodying the role? We’re not so sure about this one.
