There is very little about Season 2 of The Walking Dead that has put a smile on my face. After a stellar opening season last year, fans were told they would have to wait almost a full year before we got treated for the follow-up season. Then, AMC got rid of series showrunner Frank Darabont. Now, news comes that the premiere will go on as planned on October 16th (with a 90-minute episode, no less), but that the second half of the season will be split over the winter and therefore the final episode of Season 2 will not air until February 12, 2012!
So let’s recap. Frank – gone. Season 2 – long wait. New Season – 6 episodes starting in October, 6 more starting in January. WTF!?
We have not given up on the franchise – well, not yet anyways, but our patience with the behind-the-scenes news is putting us on the fence and Season 2 better deliver the goods and reward its viewers for said patience or the second season might be its last. |
