A Battlestar Galactica fan, my favourite character in the new millennium series was undoubtedly Captain Kara ‘Starbuck’ Thrace played by Katee Sackhoff.  So was blonde, beautiful and tough as nails.  So I was ecstatic today to find out that Katee is in final negotiations to join Vin Diesel in the latest instalment of the Riddick series. 

Sackhoff would join returning actors Diesel and Karl Urban in the third instalment of the Riddick story directed again by David Twohy. 

Imdb.com lists the new films synopsis thusly:

Betrayed by his own kind and left for dead on a desolate planet, Riddick fights for survival against alien predators and becomes more powerful and dangerous than ever before. Soon bounty hunters from throughout the galaxy descend on Riddick only to find themselves pawns in his greater scheme for revenge. With his enemies right where he wants them, Riddick unleashes a vicious attack of vengeance before returning to his home planet of Furya to save it from destruction.

Still in the early stages of pre-production, Riddick is expected sometime in 2013.
