Killer Reviews is a huge fan of director Brad Anderson’s work. Session 9, The Machinist, Vanishing on 7th Street. Each project brought something new and fresh to their genre and each film was filled with enough atmosphere to gag an entire audience.
It is with elation therefore that we report that Brad is at work on his new venture, The Hive. Starring Halle Berry and Abigail Breslin, The Hive centers around a 911 operator (Berry) that works to save a young girl (Breslin) who is being attacked by a serial killer.
The idea itself is spine chilling. Think of the tension that Ron Howard was able to incorporate with two characters on the phone in a film like Ransom and then up the ante tenfold. Lucky for anyone who enjoys film, Joel Schumacher – who was originally attached to the project – is out and Anderson is in.
Breslin and Berry do have some horror pedigree. Breslin appeared in M. Night Shyamalan’s Signs while Berry was showcased in Gothika.
No word yet on when production begins, but with Anderson behind the camera, you can be sure that Killer Reviews follows the footsteps of the production closely.
